A simple technique to help you stop smoking


Smoking is bad for you but you can't seem to quit and you're not alone.  Quitting is one of the hardest things you may ever do but may also be the most rewarding.  You see the commercials on television with the health issues from smoking yet you continue to puff away.  Logically you know smoking is bad for you but quitting is so hard!  What's up with that?
While the conscious thinking mind knows smoking is bad for you there is some benefit that keeps you puffing away. Hypnosis can help you quit but you can try this simple technique below to stop smoking on your own. 

 A simple technique to help you quit

Take a deep breath every time you desire a cigarette. A really deep breath mimicking the way you smoke.
Keep breathing deeply while you massage you hands or temples.  This will give you something to do with your hands instead of holding the cigarette.
Studies show the urge only lasts for several minutes so while you breathe in clean fresh air play your favorite song and remind yourself of the benefits of being a non smoker.
Allow the urge to smoke to pass.  Give it at least 3 minutes.
Relax your body and assume the posture like you do when you smoke.The chart below outlines the average number of craves daily.  You may experience more or less.  Do the breathing exercises consistently. Practice even when aren't craving.  Recondition yourself to breathe clean fresh air.

Hypnosis is an alternative that works
If you still can't quit . Call me. The results are amazing with hypnosis!  Many people are able to quit smoking in only one hypnosis session.  There are a few exceptions to every rule and I know it sounds out of the ordinary but it's true in only one hypnosis session it is possible to be a nonsmoker. Are e-cigarettes a good way to quit smoking? Perhaps

The popularity of e-cigarettes is growing and many people are reporting that the e-cigarette is helping them to quit smoking.  This can be a good thing however the best thing would be to become a non smoker and not rely on any type of outer stimulant for the benefits of relaxation.  Fact is what the body wants is to BREATHE!!
If you can learn to inhale deeply without the chemicals and additives associated with traditional cigarettes and e-cigarettes studies say you can live a longer healthier life!
Give yourself the gift of life..breathe clean fresh air and drink plenty of clean water.
While e-cigarettes may be a way to quit smoking, be mindful of what types and flavors you are inhaling.  Some may be harmful.  Also be aware of the dangers associated with the mechanisms you choose.  There have been reports of fire and explosions.  The reward may seem to be an easy fix but are you just replacing one bad habit with another?

There are many ways to give up addictions and bad habits like smoking. The one that is most effective is the one that works.  Try and try again! Never give up on achieving your goals.  I’ve seen clients who quit in one session and I’ve seen clients who refuse to quit because they are not ready to. I always suggest they relax give it break and come back when they are ready.. no pressure. A partner, spouse or family member wants them healthy.  That pressure creates more stress and makes it even harder to let go.  A cigarette may be the only time you take a really DEEP breath and let go..sad but true.
It will happen just as rapidly as you relax!  breathe deep and let go, let it all go…

How to try to stop smoking for free

If I told you a simple way to help you stop smoking, would you at least give it a try?  One thing I tell all of my clients who want to quit smoking is that the cigarette manufacturers are very smart people.  They have created an industry worth billions based on a very simple need every human has.  The need to breathe.  Breathing is simply NOT an OPTION.  Every moment we are either inhaling or exhaling with a pause in between. Most of the time the breath is breathing you,  because you aren't paying any attention to it.  Thank goodness the body is made so brilliant.  Stop for a moment if you already haven't and take a really deep breath...again...just become aware of that amazing life force of air.

If you are like most people (warm blooded and alive) you walk around all day breathing pretty shallow.  Medical studies say we only use a fraction of our lung capacity and brain capacity(that's another issue) Then something happens. stress. life.  all of a sudden you may realize that you are NOT breathing.  Just how long have you been holding your breath hunched over that computer screen?

Take a really deeeep breath of fresh air and hold it.  Purse your lips like you would if you smoked but only take in clean air. repeat. again. The more you remember to breathe clean fresh air and pass on the cigs the closer you are to becoming a non smoker. 
Each day replace cigarettes with this simple habit.  The more you breathe the easier it will become.  Don't wait for a stressful moment wake up each morning and honor life with a deep deep breath.
